Dr. Jaquetta Shade-Johnson is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation (ᏣᎳᎩᎯ ᎠᏰᎵ) and an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the Department of English and the School of Visual Studies' Digital Storytelling Program. Ed Smith’s (Osage Descent) passion lies in the resurgence of traditional food systems and food sovereignty. He established and managed an Indigenous food garden for 10 years and has helped several tribes and American Indian community members establish their own traditional gardens.
