The big problem with video in large meetings is poor connections.
Rose Marra
16:32
Suggest we take what John says and turn it into a helpful PDF .. or something.. to communicate to all..

Great idea Rose! He also has a PowerPoint!
Rose Marra
23:02
Alex - my understanding is that there is a place to report a student not wearing a face covering.. is there such a link? and I think including that on this page would be good. thanks!
Nicole Monnier (she/her)
24:06
Are we still on track for a Qualtrix replacement for COVID ordering?
S. David Mitchell
24:11
do we get notified of these reports?
Kevin Gillis
24:20
5,000 face shields for faculty are being made in the College of Engineering
Matthew Martens
24:38
Yes, hopefully we will have details on the new ordering process soon.

24:54
Can faculty wear a clear mask instead of a face shield?
Jennifer Fellabaum-Toston
25:00
As a follow-up to April's question, is there an update on when and how the packs (e.g., masks, wipes) will be distributed? (and the face shields?)
Catherine Rymph
25:41
Some TAs have asked what to do in the short term with a student who comes a mask. We know we can report them, but can they be told to leave and if they won’t leave do we just let them sit in class unmasked? Instructors don’t want to have altercations but also don’t want unmasked students in class.
Yong Volz
25:51
this is a question from a faculty member: if a student told the instructor that he/she is “afraid” of coming to class due to concerns of COVID-19, is the structor required to provide an online version of the class to the student?
Rose Marra
39:17
This is a great video that shows the value of social distancing in a very engaging way… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ2NMD3VWio
Rose Marra
39:31
super short…. well done..
Jung Ha-Brookshire
44:10
so the clear face masks are being ordered by the campus so we don't have to order any from the dept level?
Chris Riley-Tillman’s
44:37
Yes Jung
Latha Ramchand
44:44
Yes - we have ordered the masks shown in the slide
Jung Ha-Brookshire
45:01
Thank you!
Linda Reeder
45:07
Excellent. How do we request those masks?
Latha Ramchand
45:17
Have ordered 1000 masks and will order more - am looking at the data on the number of faculty who are teaching and how often they are to estimate the demand
Steve Whitt
45:18
this may be the most important slide for nuanced understanding.
Latha Ramchand
46:10
Linda - my plan is to provide this to every dean/college based on the number of faculty who are teaching
Latha Ramchand
46:24
and if you all need more let us know
Latha Ramchand
47:14
for students may be a bit more challenging and the supply of these masks is limited per the supplier
Linda Reeder
47:38
On another topic: Could we have some clarity on repopulation procedure. In particular must everyone fill out the return to work forms before they return in August?
Dr. Langley
47:38
will this include staff?
Linda Reeder
47:50
Thank you, Latha
Latha Ramchand
48:11
yes we hope to provide to staff who have to meet with students
Dr. Langley
50:24
thanks Latha
Catherine Rymph
52:16
I know this sounds cynical but: What happens if students don’t log into the app OR don’t log accurately because they don’t want to have to go get a test?
Latha Ramchand
52:57
good question which came up yesterday during our meeting with the chancellor, and we are checking on that as well -
Dr. Langley
53:00
will all students regardless of health coverage have access to free testing?
Brian Houston
57:06
This full explanation is helpful, but it seems like the student monitoring plan will miss individuals who are asymptomatic and infectious. Right?
Sashi Satpathy
57:09
When Fall teaching starts, can we designate some office staff “essential workers” and require them to be present in the building or it has to be voluntary?
henryc
57:43
Nicely done, John. Thank you!
Jung Ha-Brookshire
58:02
Can we have the link to the recording later so i can share it with my faculty? so useful...
Dr. Langley
59:10
John that was the clearest explanation I’ve seen in a while. I would love to share your recording with my Dept
Dr. Langley
59:28
thanks John
Latha Ramchand
59:51
We are so fortunate to have a team like we do - John and John, Steve, and Scott - thank you for all you do
Dr. Langley
01:00:06
yes
Mark Stewart
01:06:41
Please share - it will be very useful

Regarding possible transmission behaviors, what about a classroom activity where students are asked to talk to each other (either in dyads or small group) and process an issue or topic. These conversations, where everyone in the classroom is talking, may extend for up to 30 minutes cumulative time in a 2-hour class period.

Tori Mondelli (she/her/hers)
01:10:42
Hmm. Sorry the link is giving an error message. Retrying now.
Dr. Langley
01:11:23
Given the length of time students will be in masks would it be advisable to build in a short break
Chris Riley-Tillman’s
01:11:29
For further questions please send me an email and I will get the correct information from the team.

We have heard there are limits on the number of people in a building...is that trure?
